Prebble Family Tales

We decided to take advantage of a beautiful fall day by heading out to Gareth’s Pappy’s house to check out the horses. First Gareth got to try out the great big horse (he loved it but it was a little hard to hold him up there!) <%popup(20031013-big horse.jpg|640|468|Way up high)%> | <%popup(20031013-close up horse.jpg|640|456|Happy Cowboy)%> Next Gareth went for a bumpy but fun ride on the pony cart. He smiled up and down the lane through the woods. Travis even got to take a turn driving the horse cart! <%popup(20031013-cart.jpg|640|589|Bumpin' up and down in the pony cart)%> We unhitched the pony from the cart and treated it to some apples. Gareth got a little slimed from horse drool, but he thought it was fun to feed the pony. <%popup(20031013-apples.jpg|640|453|Pony treat)%> Then Gareth got to ride on the pony around the yard. He’d bounce every time the pony stopped and even when the pony was tired out and wanted to rest, Gareth didn’t want to get off of the pony’s back! He was a tired, dirty, but very happy boy by the end of his cowboy adventure. <%popup(20031013-riding.jpg|480|617|GIDDYUP! )%>

We had lots of adventures this month! Gareth tried out swimming in a big pool for the first time ever and he loved it! First we sat on the top steps of Aunt Karen’s pool, but as we got braver we slid down more into the water. Gareth kicked up a storm and played ball with his cousin Noah. Last year Gareth wasn’t a huge fan of the fair, but this year he had much more fun. He enjoyed seeing all of the animals (and getting licked by the goats!) And he loved eating Nana’s snow cone. But his favorite part was playing ‘pick up the ducks’–Gareth won a very stylish cheetah hat at the game <%popup(20031003-ducks2.jpg|640|450|He got one! )%> | <%popup(20031003-cheetah.jpg|640|500|Gareth shows off his hat)%> At the end of the month, we tried to get Gareth and Keegan’s pictures taken for their Grandma Anne’s birthday. We have moved into our new house! After 2 months of hard work, we were finally able to settle in to our home. Gareth enjoys his new room (look for pictures of our house to be added soon)–he loves to look at the pictures on his walls (we did a Shel Silverstein theme.) We moved Gareth into a toddler bed and so far he’s only managed to slide out to the floor once. Gareth is also enjoying all of the space in our new house.
