Trav wins “Father of the Year” by a mile this year! After Gareth spent weeks changing his mind about what he wanted to be for Halloween, he finally decided (much to Trav’s delight) to be R2D2. Travis then went all out for over a week planning and creating a superb R2D2 costume that Gareth could wear while rolling around in his pony walker. Salad bowls, gutter pieces, a bike helmet, a trash can, light sockets, and other interesting tidbits from Lowes all helped to create a version of R2D2 for our young Star Wars fan and R2’s beeps were recorded on Gareth’s switch so that he could “talk” like the droid while rolling around. Gareth enjoyed wearing the costume during a trial run at home, but was a little overwhelmed by the large crowds during trick-or-treat night at the mall. <%popup(20041101-home.jpg|480|631|R2D2 at home)%> | <%popup(20041101-mall2.jpg|509|640|This helmet sure is heavy!)%> At Trav’s work, Gareth and Travis won an award for Gareth’s unique get-up and Gareth proudly shared his trophy and medal with his daddy. <%popup(20041101-work.jpg|640|450|The winners!)%> | <%popup(20041101-work2.jpg|640|504|Thanks, Daddy. )%>

On Halloween night, Gareth was not quite up to rolling around town, but he was content to sit at the door to hand out treats to the many kiddos from the neighborhood. <%popup(20041101-waiting.jpg|640|514|Waiting for trick-or-treaters)%> He flirted with a girl dressed up like Tigger and laughed at the rest of the crazy costumes.

Gareth liked carving pumpkins again this year and he used his speech book to tell us what shape to cut out for each part of his jack-o-lantern’s face. <%popup(20041101-family.jpg|640|488|Our pumpkin family)%> | <%popup(20041101-pumpkin.jpg|430|640|Gareth's pumpkin)%>

On a beautful day in early October Gareth, Keegan, Grandma Jackson and I traveled out to Way Fruit Farm for some farm fun. It was such a perfect day! The boys enjoyed cuddling with some bunnies (or “Bunny Foo Foos” as Keegan kept calling them!) <%popup(20041101-bunny.jpg|640|601|Little Bunny Foo Foo)%> They also liked clowning around in the pumpkin piles and in the wooden pumpkin cut-outs. <%popup(20041101-pumpkins1.jpg|640|420|Posing with the pumpkins)%> | <%popup(20041101-cutouts.jpg|640|485|Those pumpkins sure look familiar)%> The boys liked playing in the toy tractor, but riding in the wagon behind the real tractor was definitely the highlight of the day for both Gareth and Keegan! <%popup(20041101-tractor2.jpg|640|430|Old MacGareth and Old MacKeegan drove a tractor)%> Gareth laughed a ton the entire ride out to the pumpkin patch as he hung over the edge of the wagon to watch the big tractor. <%popup(20041101-tractor.jpg|700|437|Riding out to the pumpkin patch)%> When we got to the pumpkin patch, finding pumpkins small enough for the boys to carry was a challenge. <%popup(20041101-keegan.jpg|640|547|That one's as big as his head! )%> It’s a good thing Grandma Jackson was around to help! <%popup(20041101-grandma.jpg|640|530|Thanks for helping, Grandma! )%>
